Finance Manager (part time), Central London
A highly regarded law firm based in the heart of Central London's legal community are seeking a part time Group Finance Director to join their friendly team. They currently operate three different businesses from their offices and the Finance Director will need to manage the full financial function for each of these businesses. The firm are seeking someone who has previously worked within a multi business environment and who is highly organised.
The successful applicant will need to work closely with the Senior Partner and the members of the management board so excellent communication skills are essential. The role also includes supervision of the full time legal cashier so proven staff management skills are essential, along with the ability to work well with others.
Responsibilities, across the three entities, will include:
Reconciliation and accountability for controlling the balance sheet and profit and loss account
Managing supplier payments
Cash flow management
VAT returns submission and reconciliation
Liaising with solicitors to ensure timely and regular closing of client account ledgers
Approve client/office payments from the business bank account
Production of monthly group management accounts and presentation at monthly board meetings
Review and improve the current accounting systems
Inter company accounting
Liaise with and become a point of contact for the company auditors, as well as dealing with accountants queries in respect of the SRA Audit and year end audit
Payroll management
Ad hoc tasks as directed by the Senior Partner
Candidates Profile:
Ideally educated to degree level
ACCA or ACA qualified
Able to demonstrate full working knowledge of Sage Line 50 and Microsoft Office Products
Experience within a law firm environment and knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules highly desirable
Experience of Quill Pinpoint preferable but not essential
This is a part time position working 4 hours per day for 5 days per week (firm are flexible as to exact hours) and the salary is £35K per annum pro rata. Vacancy 15395
