Mental Health Paralegal
An East-Central London law firm specialising in mental health work have a vacancy for a paralegal to work in their mental health department on a full time, permanent basis. The firm are looking for candidates with a keen interest in pursuing a career in mental health law. Any prior mental health experience would be advantageous but not strictly necessary as full training can be given.
The successful candidates will be assisting the accredited fee earners and solicitors in representing patients detained under the Mental Health Act in their appeals to the First Tier Tribunal and involves: travelling to psychiatric units across the country, consideration of medical reports and healthcare records, interviewing clients and attending care planning meetings.
Good package on offer including: company laptop, administrative support and paid overnight accommodation plus expenses for remote travel work. Support will be given for candidates to work towards accreditation by the Law Society. This position may lead to a training contract at a future date.
