A law firm are looking for a probate locum based in Staffordshire or Derbyshire to assist on a remote working basis with a number of problem files. The work will consist of working out what has been done and what needs to be done, checking the Inheritance Tax has been properly paid, dealing with any Income Tax and preparing Accounts eventually to enable the Estates to be fully wound up and the residue distributed. There are several files where this is required and so the project would last several weeks or even one or two months.
 
The nature of the work is not particularly time-sensitive so you would be able to work flexibly either full or part-time and, within reason, for as few or as many hours each week as would suit. The work can be carried out entirely remotely and aside from the occasional telephone call, the role does not require client contact. However, the work is entirely paper-based which means the director of the firm will need to drop off/pick up files as required. He is happy to do this but you will need to be based within either Derbyshire, Staffordshire or possibly Cheshire at a push.
