The successful candidate will be running a criminal caseload and covering the Basingstoke and Guildford Magistrates Court as well as attending police stations. There will be the opportunity to participate in the management of the crime department/firm and genuine business/career opportunity including progression to higher rights and expansion into other areas of law if interested. A specialist criminal defence firm are looking to speak to any experienced duty solicitors looking for work in the South of England. The firm already have an office in Ashford, Kent and are establishing offices in Maidstone, Medway, Tonbridge, Hastings and Eastbourne. The firm are looking for consultant duty solicitors to be on the rota commencing April 2017. The firm are looking for at least one full time solicitor for each location as well as part time duty solicitors. Candidates must be prepared to meet at least the minimum compliance requirements as set out under the new contracts including 14 hours per week based at the office their slots are assigned to. A solicitors firm based in Ashford in Kent have been awarded crime contracts to cover Hampshire, Wiltshire, Devon and Cornwall and are therefore seeking duty solicitors who would be able to work in those areas. The firm are also looking for duty solicitors able to cover the Kent area. Ideally the firm are looking to take on solicitors on a permanent, full time, salaried basis offering £30K to £35K per annum.
